Sad Wings Of Destiny

Two matters about this album:

1.- If the band wants that the fans don't buy the old record for the legal problems with the discographic seal, then why not a big production to re-record this masterpiece?

2.- The next year is the 30 anniversary of SWOD, and I know well that at one point this can be a big cliche now, but to dedicate 40 minutes to play the entire album in the concerts of Priest the next year, would be great. My opinion.

By the way, re-recording an actual version of Rocka-Rolla can rock too.

If Priest did the whole SWOD in concert, I probably would cum my draws :D Though Rocka Rolla is the first Priest album I ever heard, SWOD is the album that got me into them in a big way. It is my favorite Priest album

SWOD is a great album, next year they can include a few more songs of the album because the 30 anniversary and play gems like Dreamer Deceiver and Tyrant. Its a good idea!

What about a limited edition? Do you remember Killing Ground from Saxon with an extra CD with re-recorded songs? I'm thinking something like that.

I don't see Halford being able to recreate these vocals.

simon 09-10-2005 10:35 AM

it's true

halford need a long break to recover the voice.

If you would get the multitrack you would digitize everything and then add modern drum and guitar sounds. I would love to hear the album done that way with the original vocals. You would even lift some of the flat notes here and there.

Yeah, that's what I was gonna say. They can re-record the music and touch up the original vocals.

While they're at it, they should do the same thing to Sin After Sin and Stained Class. Both of those, SC in particular, would benifit greatly from a re-record.

seems dumb now, seeing that they already released metalogy and rereleased all the remastered versions of the cd's. I don't know if any material from SWOD is on there though

People would still buy them anyway

I know I sure as hell would. The problem with theose albums isn't just the production, the sound itself isn't really that good and doesn't really get across how heavy those songs truly are.
