I bought Jugulator as soon as it was released and almost threw up...hated it!
In the past year I have been able to listen to it again and

It sounds like a Glenn Tipton solo album...
The music is strong and HEAVY
The production is excellant
Scott Travis sounds awesome on Jugulator
I don't like Tim Owens vocals and he doesn't sound like Rob Halford at all

OK, all the Halford worshippers can start tossing rocks in my general direction. Hey, you can't knock killer music with great singing. Ripper is kickin' some butt with the boys.

Still, like the most of you I like my Priest with Rob the best.

Oh no, here comes the Bullet Train!!!
Bullet Train

Like a couple of people said already, I like Demolition more, but Jugulator isn't bad at all.

Jugulator is a hell of a lot better than Demolition. Jugulator sounds more like Priest, the songs are definitely better, and Ripper is screaming - what's Priest without screaming vocals? The lyrics are poor, but not nearly as bad as Demolition. My favorite tracks off of Jugulator are the title track, Dead Meat, Abductors, and Blood Stained. Unfortunately, some of the songs are really stupid like Braindead and Death Row.

I like it. I was fearful that it would really suck. You're right about Ripper not sounding like Halford. There are moments, but overall his voice is annoying. The music is strong and I like the production. I don't listen to the Jugulator as much as I used to.

Between the two, Jugulator wins hands down. Blood Stained, Burn in Hell, Bullet Train and Cathedral Spires are ultimate classics and the production is excellent. Since Cathedral Spires is the best song on the album, I was very disappointed it was never played live during that very tour. As for the cover, I didn't like the close up of the creature. The full length inside the cd should've been it. I didn't like the change in the band's logo.
Demolition on the other hand flopped at the music shop and was very disappointed. Feedback from veteran fans like myself were basically the same. Younger people found it "not bad" since they like nu-metal but elected not to buy.
Jugulator is the best album way above Demolition. Sadly, Ripper was not permitted to add his ideas into these projects. I've heard the cd with Iced Earth and it was very well done. I wish him the best in his new band.

You all know my take on this era in Priest's career....even for as bummed as I was about Halford's departure....I was completely blown away when I heard "Bulletrain" on Finger's Metal Shop for the first time....no formal intro....no nothin'....I was able to deduce that it was Priest just from the ferocity alone.....

....we all know Halford's importance to Priest....as a lyricist...a vocalist, and a performer....never once have I nor would I take ONE iota of that vitality away.....but for that time Halford was on his own, I'm supremely glad it WAS Tim Owens and not some other jackalope vocalist.....Tim was ESPECIALLY amazing live....where his vocal work REALLY shines...Owens deserves whatever success is due him....can't wait to hear what he's cooked up on his "BEYOND FEAR" project.

I think it's a crying-ass shame that Metallica are being nominated for induction into the R&R H.O.F BEFORE Judas Priest!!!
